January 7 -- on the eve of CES 2020, samsung announced the launch of the ai-based spherical robot Ballie. According to SlashGear, Ballie is a small rolling robot that supports IoT device connectivity, voice control, and equipped with a camera, which can be used to manage internet-connected items at home and home health care.
In a speech themed "the age of experience", samsung said the robot would adhere to "strict data protection and privacy standards". The robot is also equipped with a "mobile interface" that allows it to find solutions through built-in artificial intelligence to support user needs. For example, Ballie can turn on the TV for the dog and clean up the litter when the pet owner is not at home. In addition to being a smart home "housekeeper," Ballie can also be used in a variety of home appliances, from helping family members in medical emergencies to encouraging them to exercise when they're lazy.
Samsung has yet to give the public details of how much the product will cost or when it will go on sale.
